Style Oyster
Electrical wiring for outdoor lights?
Im trying to change the outdoor lights which have 4 wires (green, blue, red and black) and replacing the lamp with an oyster style light. The only problem im having is that the oyster light has only 3 places where I can connect thr 4 wires. I think I know where the red and black go, and also where the green goes, but I have no idea what to do with the blue wire. Help please!!
Green is ground.
Black is line 1 110v
Red is line 2 on 220v
Blue can be used for line 2 also
White is neutral
Does it have two light switches for these lights? If so then it has two 2-way switches. And the electrician ran 4 wire to hook it up like that. But Im not positive. Im sure it is 110v system. Since your not changing the switch then you don't have anything to worry about. When you unhook the old light look at what wires are hooked up where. And put them on this one the same way. It will have a black and white wire that it hooks to. And a wire hooked to the frame of the light. That should be the green one. The black should go to the black, and more than likely the red goes to the white. And the blue is probably capped.
